Eunuchs have long been considered in Pakistan as extremely low level citizens. In the recent years, however slowly the she-males are getting a voice. In Punjab recently she-males inheritance rights have started being given. This is an effort by the Punjab Govt. to give proper recognition if the Eunuch’s existence in the society.
Eunuchs or she-males have been degraded, considered as sex-slaves and given a very low place in the society. In Pakistan especially they are given no jobs and they are left with no ways to support themselves other than sex-trade. Now punjab government eunuch support program wishes to change all that. Pakistani government now is giving out identity cards (NIC) to eunuchs as males. This effort is to have a number count as well as to give them a place as proper citizens of the country. The eunuch support program punjab also traced 4 separate cases in Punjab of families who refused to give inheritance to their eunuch child. The importance of eunuch right to inheritance is the main focus of the support program. Society has shunned the eunuchs already. But by giving them the right to have a possibility of a roof upon their heads, they can feel safe.
The Additional Advocate General of Punjab Jawwad Hassan has reported about the Eunuch inheritance issue about the 4 families. The notices will soon be given to the families of the eunuchs to have them included in the will. The Supreme Court has thus determined the rights of four inheritance claims of different eunuchs belonging to Rawalpindi, Okara and Sialkot.
